Department store is love

I love going to the department store. It’s my little piece of heaven, where I can just stroll around all day and not get tired. It is where I unwind and relax, and it is where my mind is able to rest and stops thinking about work (and blogging!).

This is my first stop: the makeup counters! The rows and rows of oh so colorful palettes and the bright and shiny cases are enough to brighten up my mood. I am no makeup guru, but this is where I get to learn bits and tiny pieces of makeup tips from the sales girls manning these counters. This is also where I get to try the different colors and hues that match my skin tone.

Awesome, awesome place. It takes me back to my childhood — I remember sneaking into my mom’s dressing room and trying on her makeup, and how I love putting on red lipstick because it made me feel so “grown up”. And I still have that same love for makeup. It brightens up not only my face but my spirits whenever I feel down or just plain tired.

And of course, this is my favorite stop. Where else can I complete my “dress up mode”? The ladies wear section! From the gazillion dresses, tops, jeans, and even ladies underwear and lingerie.. what else can I say but BLISS? I get to try on different looks and styles and this is actually the one place where I can try clothes that I wouldn’t even consider wearing on a “normal” basis. LOL.
